Hardin Construction Company, LLC(www.hardinconstruction.com) has been chosen by the University of Houston as the Design-Build Construction Manager at Risk for the Wheeler Housing East student housing project. This project is approximately 290,000sf, consists of 7 stories and 1,172 beds, and is constructed using a tunnel-form structure method with a precast exterior enclosure. On May 13, 2009 the following packages will be released for bid to the subcontractor community: Demolition, Site Clearing, Site Grading/Backfill/Stabilization, Site Paving/Sidewalks, Site Utilities, Site Striping & Signage, Foundation Rebar, Foundation Concrete, Foundation Excavation, and Foundation Formwork. Bid proposals for each of these scope packages are required to be returned to Hardin Construction by June 1, 2009 at 10am. Each bid package will contain all pertinent contact information for Hardin Construction Company. We encourage participation by all suppliers and subcontractors of all sizes and scopes to propose their services on this exciting project at the University of Houston. Construction is slated to start on June 8, 2009.
